Why does Office ask for SKU111.cab every time I launch it?

I have been using my pre-installed Office 2003 version since last year - no
problems until this week-end when it suddenly started bringing up the
Installer and looking for sku111.cab every time I launch any Office
application.
I suspect the trigger could have been one of the automatic Windows updates
that XP downloads and updates at shut-down.
