Why does office lock up when Spider solitaire is run first?

Whenever I run Spider Solitaire before loading Officce 2003, I have
encountered the problem that Office 2003 will not load. I have to restart my
PC to get it to run. I have tried the "Save Network Settings" with the
restore function selected, but I still have to reboot my PC before I can get
Office 2003 to work properly. I am running Office XP pro on a P4, 1.7Ghz,
782Mb, with three physical hard drives. The OS is loaded on the first drive.
Office is loaded in the first partition on the second drive with data loaded
on the two remaining partitions on the second drive. The third drive contains
three partitions and contains data only.
