Why does Office update fail to work; tried all suggestions on web.

Office XP, new install, running office update from MS website. Say's it
can't. I am administrator of the local computer running WinXP SP2 w/all
current updates.

All suggestions from what web? Do you mean from the error page that came up
on Office Update? Do you get an error message? Did you search the Microsoft
Knowledge Base or this newsgroup? Here are a couple of frequently posted
recommendations to try:

The update process starts and then unexpectedly quits after you click "Check
for Updates" on the Office Update Web site:

Or, try re-installing Windows Script host v5.6:

Note that it is part of Internet Explorer v6.

Thank you for your suggestions. Tried them all and it still will not update.
I may call MS.
