Why does Office update suggest I download SP1a when I already have

I imagine you are referring to SR1a for Office 2000? If so, did you
possibly upgrade from Office 2000 to Office XP? You may have components
that were not upgraded and it is for this reason that you are being prompted
to install SR1a.
