Why does OneNote no longer recognize any keyboard input?

When I opened OneNote 2007 today I found it no longer responded to any of my
keyboard input, on any of the notebooks or pages. I'd previously been using
it without any problem. Problem still persisted after rebooting.

Have you installed any new hardware or software recently?
Are then any relevant errors in the event log?

I have not activated the product. I just learned that the version of OneNote
originally loaded on my laptop when I bought it was only a trial version.
Apparently the trial period has lapsed and if I want to continue to use this
program I'll need to buy a stand-alone version, since Office Standard which
I'm running excludes OneNote but includes Outlook, which I need. Thank you
for your help.
