Why does Outlook 2007 delete the auto-complete email addresses on
undeliverable messages? Is there anyway to change that?

Why would you want it to change? What is your evidence that this behavior
even exists?

I sent my boss an email that came back as undeliverable for whatever reason.
It was most likely because IPower has been having issues today. Or sometimes
an email is too big and will come back. It is not that the email address is
bad. This is what is frustrating. When the email comes back as
undeliverable Outlook takes the email address out of the auto-complete
addresses. It is a small problem, but I was just wondering if there is a
preference to change this.

Outlook does not do this. That's why I asked for the evidence that made you
think it does.

Hi,

Funnily enough I've recently started seeing this exact same behaviour
in Outlook 2003. It's mildly annoying so I started scouting around for
posts and articles tha might tell me why it's happening.

Cheers,

Matt

What can happen is that Outlook can forget the addresses you've used during
the current session. It won't forget random entries in the cache. It can
also forget older enteries because the cache is limited to 2,000 entries. Add
the 2,001st entry and the oldest entry will be removed.
