Why does Outlook replace all my

L

lcpw

Outlook replaces my tab characters with a series of characters - these: Å¡Å¡Å¡Å¡.
This happens in my outgoing mail. I cannot see the replacement when I am
composing the mail, and the mail looks fine in my "sent" folder. But the
recipient sees the strange characters (which sometimes make the mail
unreadable). This happens to all recipients, as far as I can tell (including
when I send a mail to myself).

The same thing happens if I type a series of blanks in a row - a single
blank is not replaced by the Å¡ character, but multiples are.

I am using Office 2003, professional edition. My operating system is
Windows XP Professional.
