Why does Outlook sometimes send my mail when I paste w/ Ctrl-V

C

CrazyPaster

This happens a few times a month, seemingly randomly, but definitely
aggravatingly, and sometimes embarrassingly.

I'll start writing an e-mail in Outlook. I need to paste some text into the
email. I use Ctrl-V on the keyboard to paste, and all of a sudden the email
is sent in its incomplete state. If I read what was sent in the message in
the sent mail folder, I see that the paste never happened.

This is crazy. I've wondered if I'm hitting the wrong keys on the keyboard
by accident, but I can't reproduce the combination. I've tried to search on
Google for what could be going on, but all I found were two references to
other folks experiencing the same problem. At least I'm not alone.

I haven't customized anything or changed the default key combinations for
any commands.

Alt-S will send email, but I'm certain that I'm not hitting that combination.

Help! Like most Microsoft products, this is driving me insane!

Yes, this just happened to me too 18 YEARS after the original poster. Surely this has been solved by now!?

WTF... just happened to me! It doesn't always happen but it has happened a few times in the past but I thought maybe I just fat fingered something. Until it happened just now.

Definitely happens... seems silly to have such a random bug after this product has been out for SOOO long, and frustrating that there does not seem to be a known fix or even acknowledgement of the issue from MS.

Yes, checking in in 2024 and it's still happening. Such a frustrating bug.

I thought it was just me and I was accidentally hitting a wrong key. I've started typing my emails and pasting before I put in the recipient in Outlook. It just happened to me in my Gmail today. So frustrating.
