Why does Picture Manager list time in GMT?

J

Jimsolt

I send email with attachment of photo & metadata for that photo. When
attachment is opened with MS Office Picture Manager, all metadata including
DATE TAKEN is correct, but TIME PICTURE TAKEN is always -5 hours to the
second off. That suggests it is GMT, not EST that is used by all other
programs. When SAME picture attachment is opened in Photoshop, the TIME
PICTURE TAKEN is listed as the original time in stamped in the camera. This
is METADATA, read by clicking PROPERTIES, not a time stamp visible on the
photo. Can this be ajusted to reflect my time zone? The computer clock is
correct. The email send and receive information is correct time.

Hi Jim,

You're talking about the date in the Camera Properties=>More
section of the Office 2003 Picture Manager Properties Taskpane?

It's an issue that MS is looking into. As far as I know
there isn't yet a correction or registry hack for it and
the 'Picture Property' portion of the taskpane should show
the correct information.
