Why does printed doc differ from Print Layout View?

I am proofing my document in Print Layout View but when I print the
paragraphs are wrapping differently, page breaks are at different locations.
Also, one sentence's text is printed on page 3 then part is repeated at the
top of page 4 rather than being a continguous sentence (even when the doc is
printed in its entirety). Help!
