Why does Project file get corrupted???

I've seen lots of discussion about corrupt files and how to fixe them... but
why do they get corrupt and how can you prevent them from getting
corrupted....

It seems to me that Microsoft knows of the problem and the 2003 is
advertised that it can read corrupted file (and it can... to a limited
ability). So why does not Microsoft fix the problem???

John,
After all these years why do operating systems still crash? It is next
to impossible to anticipate and test every possible combination of
events. Plus, adding features to an application increases the
possibility of undesirable conditions. And then there is the user
factor. Some operations are meant to be performed in a certain ways but
they may also work, for the most part, by using shortcuts. With Project,
here is an example. Paste Links between applications are easy to make
but require care when breaking. If the user breaks only one side of the
link (e.g. the destination), the source file will still have its part of
the link and this can cause corruption.

The bottom line, neither Microsoft nor any other software developer can
fully bulletproof software. Companies with more experience and resources
tend to do a better job but nobody is perfect.

That's my opinion, I'm sure you'll get others.

No links between Project Files not even through the Resource Pool.. Nobody..
and I mean nobody can save the Resource Pool.... but that is not a good
enough answer. It is happening more often now that we are using Project Pro
2003, before we were using Project 98 and had less cases... but we could not
repair... with 2003 we can repair sometimes.. but we have more corruptions.
