Why does Publisher 2003 not have cool gradient fill effects??????

I was planning to update some labels made a while ago in PUblisher 2000.
Unfortunately Publisher 2003 does not have the same gradient fill effects. I
feel very sad about this as the multi-coloured swirls etc really brightened
up my classroom.
