why does Publisher have a non-standard postcard size? 4x5.5

All the Publisher templates for postcards result in a postcard that cannot be
used. Standard postcard size is 4x6, publisher templates are 4x5.5. I
cannot determine a way to change this incorrect dimension. Does anyone have
any ideas? My older version at least created a template that could be
downloaded and sent to printing company. This is unuseable. Karen

Many pre-scored postcards are 5.5 x 4.25, four to a page. You will have setup
your page manually.
Avery has downloadable templates for Word

To setup your page in Publisher, File, page setup, custom, type 6" width, 4"
height, click change copies per sheet
Side margin -- 1.25
Top margin -- 1.25
Horizontal gap - zero
Vertical gap - .5

OK thanks for the info Mary, yes it's true about the postcard stock you can
purchase and run through your home computer. I have figured out how to do
this so that it fits to the commercial printing requirements. You go to
file, page setup, layout, and change width to 6.25" and H to 4.25", click ok.
Then you have to go to ? I forget where, tools? I couldn't find it just now,
I would have to ask that weird paper clip, and you have to change all the
margins to .25" so that the bleed is correct. Ta da! This only took me a
couple of hours to figure out as I have to hold my cursor (hmmm why do they
call it that?) on the "short" drop down menu for a minute or so before it
hands me the "real" drop down menu.
Thanks again for the help. "Goober"
