I purchased small buisness edition of microsoft office and each of the
applications have the phrase "non-commercial use" in the title bar. Why else
would i buy it? How do i get rid of the message?

The usual reason for this is your computer came with a free trial
version of Office 2007 Home and Student Edition, which is for
non-commercial use only, and you did not uninstall the free trial
version before installing your purchased version of Office 2007.

Using the software to manage your own business is not commercial use. Using
the software to manage someone else's business, keep its books, whatever, in
return for remuneration, or recompense in any form is "commercial" use.

Your definition differs from Microsoft's, but since it is Microsoft's
software, Microsoft's definition trumps yours. The Office 2007 Home and
Student Editions's Software License Terms say, "The software is not
licensed for use in any commercial, non-profit, or revenue-generating
business activities."
