why does the drop down file list take 30-45 seconds when saving

When using save or save as in office the drop down file list disappears when
the down arrow is pressed. It sometimes takes 30-45 seconds for it to appear
and sometimes I get the not-responding message. I have tried all the
fixesdealing with security update MS06-015 and have deleted and reinstalled
Office Professional 2003. Noluck.

Have you Disconnected all the unavailable mapped drives? R-click My
Computer and pick Disconnect network drives and pick the ones you don't
have access to.
