Why does the Global Address list differ from the All Users list?

Hi,
Could someone please explain the followings?
I change someone’s phone number under user’s properties on the Exchange
server / Active directory Users and Computers.

This change comes across to the All users list in the Address book but not
to the Global Address list.

Your help is much appreciated.

Hi Diane,
Outlook 2003 is the version and the time could be for good, in other words,
one address book would never change.
While waiting for a clue, I got my colleague to try to explain as well, and
he pointed to the Use Chased exchange mode option under the Email account.
This solved the issue, but I do not wish to go to all my users' desktop to
change this for everybody.
Can this be done from the server site?

it can take 24 - 48 hours for changes to appear on the user side when you
use cached mode because AB book changes only download every 24 hours.

Woud you know how to default this option to be not ticked globally?
