why does the text get smaller after I make corrections

I created a form in Word. The form has 2 tables on about 5-6 pages in the
middle. The pages before and after have regular text. The first table has for
columns. The second has 1. After I made corrections (without changing any
fonts or font size), everything got smaller. From the first page to the last
page. It looks as if I changed the size of the paper to legal from letter.

Do you perhaps have Change Tracking enabled?
And if so, are you showing changes in balloons? That could cause what you're
seeing - a scaling down of the page to allow the balloons to fit.
