Why does word crash when I paste something from internet-explorer

When I copy text from Internet Explorer 6.0 and try to paste it in a
Microsoft Word document, MS Word crashes, it keeps 'thinking', the hour glass
icon, and does nothing, does not paste. I used to be able to do this untill
yesterday. What could be the problem
