Why does Word freeze when I try to scroll through a long document

I am working in Word 2007. When I try to use the side scroll bar or use the
Page Down Function, the computer freezes. I cannot even access the End Task
window when this happens. It usually happens when I have a long document, 30
pages or more. I am using the Trial version. Is there some way to fix this? I
usually have to restart my computer several times per use.

Scrolling problems usually suggests an incompatible or partially corrupt
printer or graphics driver. As this is a new trial version, I would suggest
compatibility may be the problem. Try checking that you have the latest
drivers and then reinstall them.

Also, after all those freeze-ups, try cleaning out the abandoned files too:
