Why doesn't the entire subject line appear in the recipient email

The recipients of my email receive an incomplete subject line. Not all
letters appear in their subject line. If I type a five letter word as few as
two or three letters appear. I also have to type the first letter twice so
at least the first letter appears and it only appears once in the recipient's
email message.
