why don't hyperlinks work in emails

When I click on a hyperlink in an email I get a message "This operation has
been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer." This has
only happened since using Outlook 2007, previously I was using Windows Mail
and hyperlinks worked OK in this

You are trying to claim to us that you have never heard of Google or any
other online search service? Uh huh.

This is a problem with IE, its not an Outlook error. You need to reset your
internet settings in IE's Tools, Internet Options, Advanced tab. (Or Control
panel, Internet options, Advanced tab).

The problem seems to be caused by installing then uninstalling Google Chrome.
In researching online I found the following. (Note: The instructions below
originally listed three items to change but I found that didn't work. I then
found two more in the list (which I've added below) that also had "Chrome" as
the prefix, changed them as instructed, and it fixed the problem.

"If you received this error after uninstalling Google Chrome (or Firefox)
browser you may need to change the HTM/HTML association in the registry.

1.Start, click Run, type REGEDIT in the Open (or Search) box, and then click
OK.
2.Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\.html
3.Right click the value for the .html key and select Modify...
4.Change the value from "ChromeHTML" to "htmlfile" (or from FireFoxHTML to
htmlfile),
Repeat these steps for .htm, .xht, .xhtml, and .shtml keys if they exist."
