Why format change when I add new pages to a protected document?

I have documents that certain paragraphs were protected. When I try to add
some exhibits, the exhibits' format was changed even when I unprotected the
document. How can I correct that so that the next time, the format of the
exhibits will not change the next time I attach them. HELP!

What kind of document protection are you using?

As far as the formatting changes in the exhibits are concerned, note that
any text inserted into a document will usually adjust to the formatting of
the target (this is certainly the case with Insert | File). What you can do
is make sure to use unique style names in the source (inserted) documents.
