Well, if you don't need outlook, go ahead and delete it. It's overkill for
many users - Outlook Express or Vista's Mail program are better suited for
many people. Use the program that best meets *your* needs, not the one you
think you should use just because it came with an office suite and you "paid
for it" (A better way to look at this is to say you paid for the programs
you needed - the ones you never used before are free. My freebie is
powerpoint - I rarely use it but its in every office suite I buy - I
*needed* to buy outlook, word, excel, and access; everything else included
in my suite was free.)
What type of email account do you have configured in Outlook?
Are you using an antivirus scanner that scans your email? What about and
antispam scanner? These programs can interfere with network connectivity and
cause the password box to come up.
