Why has spell check stopped - Word 2003

The spell checker has suddenly stopped working -- Office 2003 WORD.

I have checked "options" and they seem OK.

Check the language of the document. Ctrl+A to select the entire document,
then go to Tools | Language | Set Language and make sure the correct
language is selected and "Do not check spelling or grammar" is not checked.

Problem self resolved.

I sent the email message containing the problem. I have tried more messages
and they do not have the problem. The "messsage sent" copy of the original
message does not have the problem.

It's a mystery? I'll watch to see if it happens again.
