Why have I suddenly got error 0x800CCC80? Outlook 2007

For no apparent reason (no new software etc.) I get Task Mail Email Account
Sending error 0x800CCC80 and cannot receive mail. This is dire.
Is it Outlook for my provider?

Using a Hotmail account?

Since September 1, WebDAV access to Live Hotmail/MSN accounts has been
disabled.
For Outlook 2003 and 2007, you can use the use the Outlook Connector
instead.
For Outlook 2002 and previous, you'll have to configure it with POP3
instead.
If you are using Outlook Express, use Windows Live Mail instead (success or
Outlook Express).
