Why/how stop all 4 phone numbers showing the same

When I open some contacts, all 4 phone numbers shown are the same one even though others have been entered. It will show all 4 different phone numbers if I must click on each one to make the other numbers appear, in some cases. I had the same problem in prior Outlook versions, e.g., O'XP. Same problem both on my desktop and laptop. What to do
