Hi, can anyone please advise that why I had below error message when I did
post? The problem is, eventually, I found my posts were actually posted.

"An error occurred while sending your post"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We're sorry, but there was a problem with the system and your post was not
received. The error has been reported to Operations and will be investigated
as soon as possible. Please try again later.

Thanks in advance,

JJin

Lots of people are having problems with the newsgroups right now. These
problems include duplicate messages. Obviously the error message was bogus,
as the system did actually send your original post. Hope this helps.

Hi JJin,

I hope, all of you know we can access this group from following two
URLs.

Google: http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.project.server/topics?hl=en

Microsoft Office Online:
http://www.microsoft.com/office/com...microsoft.public.project.server&lang=en&cr=US

I created my profile on Google and always I use the first URL to post
my messages. Here is my experience:

When I post the message, sometimes I didn't see my posting on Google
group for long time. But If I go and see on Microsoft Office Online
URL, my post was appearing instantly there. It seems to be, Google
group will take some time to archive the messages from Microsoft. If
you didn't see the posting on google group instantly, please do not
post again. It causes the duplicate messages. Just go and check the
Microsoft Office Online group to verify your message already posted.
Please give some time to sync the google group with Microsoft group
messages. (Most of the time Google group also instant, but only some
times you see the delay)

(Google group is having capability to archive the messages forever.
Whereas, Microsoft group will not archive the messages after certain
time period.)

Thanks

I use Windows Mail (formerly Outlook Express) to access the newsgroups. On
occasion, I have seen the error that JJin reported. Oddly enough, in spite
of the error message, the post usually makes it to the newsgroup. What's up
with that? :)

Hi Dale,

It's interesting. I never saw the "An error occurred while sending
your post" error. When I post from Google, I always get "Your post is
successful". The only issue I have is delay on appearing the message
on forum.

What's the reason beyond of misleading error message? I don't know the
answer to your question. Off course, it's out of our domain and out
of our subject. All we should happy for at least our messages are
finally able to make it appear on forum and reaching to our
community. :)

Thanks

"What's up with that?" is an American expression to show disbelief in
something. :)

Chak:

It's definitely a problem on the Microsoft news servers. I think the Google
servers run on a unix platform which seems less prone to these problems. I
prefer to use a news reader as I haven't found a web interface I can put up
with.

Hi Gary and Dale,

You are guys are great. You both really care the community and I
really appreciate of your concerns on this group.

Gary: I remember your article on ProjectServerHelp about on posting
when we look for help. You also mentioned on this article on Google
servers about archival capability. This feature is very useful to
search the previous postings and finding the solutions.

Let's hope, Microsoft will improve the user interface and make it
error prone. BTW, do you know who is the administrator/moderator for
this group?

Take care.

Thanks

I hereby dub you the moderator! LOL! After nine years of participatin in the
newsgroups I can say with some degree of certainty that these groups are on
auto pilot. They are loosely overseen (and I use that term loosely) by CSS,
the support group in Mirosoft that shepherds the Most Valuable Professional
Program. There is a platforms group within Microsoft that oversees the
newsgroup technologies, keeps the lights on and works at keeping them spam
free, Christophe Fiessinger is the first Micosoft Project Product team
member in the last decade who has shown any degree of *consistent* interest
and active participation in the project newsgrous which isn't surprising
when you look at his efforts across the board in building community.
Frankly, the project newsgroups draw one of the most respectful and
professional audiences in cyberspace. Every once in a while I've seen a
minor flare-up in the Project group, but our little community has remained
remarkably friendly to one another and I'm not counting rants directed at
the product itself!
