Why is 2007 Office seem so slow to respond?

Everytime I click on some area when working in OFFICE 2007, it seems
SOOOOOOOOOOOOO slow. I have to wait whenever I click on something (e.g. view,
spell check etc.). IT IS NOT my computer- I have heard this from "old" and
"new" computer users running office 2007

I have been using Office 2007 for 14 months. It is the fastest, in my
opinion. I have Office 2003 on my other computer and when I am using it, I
get anxious.
