Why is access .mdb file so huge?

I found out that if I have pictures embedded on the report, your mdb
file increase. Try linking your pcitures instead of embedding.

After I removed the pictures, my mdb file went from 56MB to 5 MB.

Now, my only problem is that Access crash often when I'm trying to
view the reports.

(totally undocumented switch)

Semi-documented switch. Microsoft does mention it in at least one article on
dealing with database corruption and it is *well* documented in the newsgroups
(and the google archives).

Hello, thank you for trying to help.

I have an access front end to an SQL server database. There are only a
handful of forms, reports, and a module, all of moderate size. All my
tables are 'linked' tables to the SQL server tables.

THE FILE IS OVER 14MB AFTER COMPACTING!

It also takes a long time for Access to save a report after it has been
modified in design view.

Anyone know what's going on?

Thanks,

Ivan

That's okay. It's still unsupported, though (that means that you use it at your
own peril).

:)
