Why is Entourage stipping text on reply?

Processor: Power PC
Email Client: pop

Often, but not consistenly, I click reply and Entourage strips out all previous conversation and email signatures and logos from me and the other party. why is this? thanks.

Entourage signatures put in "-- " (two hyphens, a space, and a line break).
This is called a sig dash, signature cut line and sig-marker. Anything below
this line is automatically deleted. This cuts down on excessive replies.

When you reply on top, everything is included below your reply.

Diane, this is beyond that. I click reply and the incoming letter is gone.

But what's weird is later that day, the problem might go away!

Very annyoying in the moment. What is this? I'd love to solve it.

Drag a message to the desktop for testing.

Under Entourage in the Menu bar, select Switch Identity.

Create a new test Identity (no need to enter account info)

Drag the test message into the folder list.

Try replying and see what happens.

I move image to desktop then works!
Or I delete it. then it works!
It's like it need to be move or something.
But reply straght from inbox. strips everything, still flustered.

Can you "Forward as Attachment" an example to me. I just don't get what is
happening.

Diane, I replie to your email bounced back. Where do I forward attachment?
Got one today, replied, stripped out previous text. I dragged the email to another folder and then it was fine. I then dragged it back into the inbox, and it was still fine!
It just gave me problems when new in the inbox. Still huge hassle workaround

Sounds like you may have highlighted some text in the message you
received and then clicked the Reply button. This is actually a feature
of Entourage, allowing you to quote just the text you are responding to
in the message.

Click once in the received message before replying and this will
de-select anything that is highlighted. Then click the Reply button.
