Why is Excel 2007 so much slower than previous version?

Testing out Office 2007 for work implementation, found that most apps are a
bit slower than previous version but still acceptable. However, Excel is
extremely slow when running an app w/ VBA. It's a program that runs graphs
and save the Excel file to 2 different network directories. It generally
takes Excel 2003 or XP to complete in less than 10 seconds, it's taking 2007
over 2 minutes to run this macro. Any solution to this?
