Why is it taking Word 60 seconds to open, excel opens immediately.

Just recently it has been taking MS Word 2003 a long time to open, but my
excel still opens quickly. I did scan disk, defrag, adaware and spybot, and
reinstalled word to no avail. Any helpful hints?

Hi with WORD2002/2003 after you installed a Macro and the security is set to
High for Macro's, then WORD will first try and verify the revocation data for
that particular Macro's digital certificate. To work around this do the
following.

In WORD Click on Tools, Macro, Security and change the security setting from
high to medium or low, apply. Close and re-open WORD. If the problem has
disapeared, try and switch the security setting back to high and test again.
If none of this work you can try the following: Open Internet Explorer,
click on Tools, Internet Options, Advanced Tab and uncheck the "Check for
publishers's certificate revokation" apply and close IE.

Setting macro security to "low" is not advisable, as it leaves Word
vulnerable to macro viruses. The "low" setting allows all macros to
run, regardless of source and regardless of whether the macros are
signed or not. The "medium" setting is a better choice because it will
prompt you to say yes or no to each macro that tries to run.
