Why is my attach button inserting

I came into work today and need to attach a file to an e-mail. When I click
on the attach button (paper clip) it inserts the file into the body of the
e-mail. How can I change this back to an attach function?

You've changed your email format to Rich Text. (Whether intentionally or
unintentionally). Change it back to either Plain Text or HTML.....
