Why is my comma disappearing?

dude where's my comma

All of a sudden in Word 2000 and Excel 2000 my comma disappears after hitting
the space bar.
How can I fix this?

Choose AutoCorrect on the Tools menu. If you find a comma listed under
"Replace text as you type" on the AutoCorrect tab, just select it and
press the Delete button. Does this make a difference?
