Why is my product key rejected

I bought my Office Home and Student 2007 package from a computer shop in
Dubai and today I received a message from Microsoft Office System 2007 asking
me to enter my product key. I typed the 25 character product key on the
package but I get the message that it's not correct. Can you pls. help me
what to do

Did you have a Trial version pre -installed on your machine? If so, did you
uninstall it before installing the version you purchased?
