I've run into this problem a few times now, and I can't figure out what's
going on.
When I open one particular template to edit it, it's immediately 'dirty' -
that is, its .Saved property is "False". It doesn't contain any fields or
links in the body of the template (apart from page numbering fields in the
footer for the second page), and while there is an AutoOpen macro in it, the
code only runs if the .Type is wdTypeDocument - which it definitely is not.
In addition, I can confirm (through the use of some strategically placed
message boxes) that it's not the AutoOpen code that's making the template
dirty.
As I said, this has happened a couple of other times as well, but
unfortunately, I can't recall exactly which other template/s were involved
previously so I can't even look for commonalities. Any thoughts?
