Why is office xp sp3 a required update when I don't have office xp

On windows XP Home Edition v. (Build 2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519: Service
Pack 2)
I have Office 2000 SR-1 Small Business v. 9.00.9327 and 12 updates (too many
update id's to list here) that cannot be removed (fully updated according to
automated office update site). I just installed Microsoft Works Suite 2006
v. 08.05.0818 which contains the Works Suite add-in for Word v. 8.0.0.000 --
Now I have Word 2002 v.10.0.2627.01 and 1 update {update id
#7B802DE5-84E5-4503-965B-2ABFFC78506A} -- Now I'm going back to the automated
office update site and it comes out saying I require Office XP SP3 & about 6
more Office XP related updates {KB873379; KB873352; KB905754; KB833858;
KB837253; KB913471} -- What are these going to do to my pc? Are they
popping up because of the Word 2002 only? If I am asked to put cd's in, can
I still just keep putting in my 2 Office 2000 small business cd's or is this
going to require Office XP cd's? Any advice respectfully?

The updates are for Word 2002 (XP). Put in your Works CD when prompted.
The XP SP will not touch any other versions of Office programs that are not
Office XP programs.
