Why is print preview only showing in grayscale?

On my computer @ work, print preview displays in color. But on my laptop,
print preview only displays in grayscale. Why?

Check your printer selection? Is it set up to print color or B&W? You
might try to reinstall the printer drivers on your laptop. I know when I
had multiple printer options (one B&W and one Color), if I had the B&W
selected, print preview showed my document in B&W; if the color printer was
selected (and/or the default printer), print preview showed full color.

Be sure to check settings in both Microsoft Word... and in the Printer
Dialog box.

Publisher 2007 has a known bug that causes Print Preview to display in
B&W with some drivers for some colour printers.

Thanks so much for your help. I installed a color printer EPSON PictureMate.
Then, it worked after I closed Pub2007 & reopened it.

But now I have a different problem. My newsletter looks like 6 window panes
with a space between each window pane. But I can see it in color. Did I
click something in the process? What can I do? Thanks again!

Your Publisher document is going to take on the printer attributes. Will this be
the printer you will be using to print your newsletter?

NO, I installed another printer & it's fine now. I guess it took on the
attributes of PictureMates 4x6's only. It split a page into 6 4x6's. All
that has resolved itself, now that another color pinter was installed.
Thanks so much!

Hi Ed or someone else:

OK, that seems to be the case here. How do I fix it? Will the bug ever be
resolved? It's like 8 months now, and it still seems broken. Any work arounds?

Thanks!
Stuart

Maybe, I don't know. To my knowledge, SP1 didn't fix it.

Microsoft can't update the code without you installing an update; I
doubt this will be fixed outside of a service pack.
Any work arounds?

Select a different printer driver.

Thanks, Ed!

Yeah, I have SP1. We're using a network printer (HP 7310 "all in one") -
I'll try some of the old printer drivers for printers that have long since
gone to the bottom shelf in the garage -- but try to remember to switch when
I want to actually print!

Patiently awaiting SP2, I guess...

Many thanks & happy trails,
Stuart
