Why is the middle pane in OL2007 refreshing itself?

This only started recently with OL2007, and for the life of me I can't
figure out why it's doing this.

Randomly, perhaps once or twice a minute, OL's middle Inbox pane (the one in
between the Navigation Pane and the Reading Pane) "refreshes" itself, for
lack of a better word. It does a little jump, as if it's updating itself
with something new, which it's not. It's extremely annoying.

Even when there IS something new (I deliver POP3 on a 10-minute interval) it
doesn't do this refresh thing. Messages are just smoothly added, so this is
something unrelated.

(I also have a Hotmail account, MSN account, and IMAP account, but the only
one configured in Send/Receive Groups is the one POP3 account.)

No AV is involved, and I've even gone as far as to disable all of Outlook's
plugins, though they're just the default ones and they've been there all
along.

Any thoughts?

Feel free to ignore this problem, as it's not an Outlook issue but an issue
revolving around programs that use Explorer components, such as Outlook, OE,
and Windows Explorer, caused by the MS IntelliPoint 6.02 driver. Thanks.
