why is the options option greyed out?

Wm Gates Jr.

I've downloaded and am running Project 2007 free trial and want to change the
duration to minutes but the Tools->Options is disabled.Have I missed out
something by wanting to get my hands dirty too quickly?
I don't think I'll learn much about project management in 60 days if I
stumble on the first hurdle.
Maybe after a good nights sleep I'll have the drive to investigate further
but in the meantime if anyone else in the world is still alert and awake and,
feeling charitable or wishes post a sarcastic reply it would be much
appreciated and/or amusing respectively and -

Did you actually activate the trial software? You must do this before most
of the functionality in the software is enabled. Let us know.

I am having the same issue as the OP.

I have tried hitting enter or arrow keys when I am on a cell and various
other methods of navigating through several different views yet the
Tools-->Options menu remains greyed out. Actually most of the menus in the
toolbar are greyed out.

Can someone confirm that this is only happening because it is the Trial
version and not something else I am doing wrong?

Thank you

Hello Brady,

Did you activate the software? Have you exited your OS and restarted
since installing?

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

I have just downloaded, uninstalled, reinstalled the trial for Project 2007,
a few times. I have entered the trial activation key, but a number of the
functions are greyed out, such as Save or Save As or Macros. I have also not
had good luck with the Project 2010 beta, for some reason, my system will not
boot, after I install it. I, however, would settle for a trial version of
2007 that was full featured
Thanks for any suggestions
Steve
