Why is the spacebar ereasing letters?

When I put the cursor inbetween letters of a word, then I press the spacebar
it ereases the letter to he right of the cursor. HELP I am using Word 2000

Look on the bottom of your Word window. Most likely you bumped the "Insert"
Key and the "OVR" will be in dark print on the bottom. If so, just hit
"Insert" again and it will be fixed!
