Why is this happening?

I have a 9 page Word X file which consists of quite a complicated table I use for planning trips.

It was created in Word X and when opened in X there are no problems. However when I open it in Word 2008 Print Layout View, parts of some of the pages cannot be seen on screen. Page 1 shows about 6 cm of the table and the rest is invisible - yet it prints OK and is OK in draft mode. The same problem exists in Publishing Layout View.

I prefer to work in Print Layout View and would appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks for the reply Clive.
To add a little more spice to the mystery, in Print Layout View pages 1,2,5 and 6 have parts of the page invisible while pages 3,4,7,8 and 9 display correctly.
When I switch to Draft mode, the offending pages have a thin, light blue line across the first column on the table where the page break should be. The pages which view correctly have a thin dotted line.
I must add, the whole document is a continuous table because I prefer to add information as I gather/research it and then break it up prior to printing.
