I have a brand new SONY VAIO computer, purchased at a local Best Buy. It
came ready to use with WindowsXP, and Office 2003 installed and checked by
the Geek group. All seemed okay...until a few days ago when suddenly my
*WORD* saved documents (including the Blue logo, etc.) somehow became WordPad
documents. That is, they now have the WordPad logo, which is sorta red and
blue, with a large letter "A". IE, when I start Word 2003 and go to open my
existing documents, NONE are shown as Word documents, but appear with the
WordPad logo. I did not myself change them. And of course it seems like
they are not formatted like they were when I saved them, etc. HELP. What
could have happened?
ALSO, when I try to open an attachment sent via e-mail, they now
automatically open in WordPad, and I don't know how to *force* them to be
opened in Word.
What do I need to do? Can anyone help? I would be willing to share my
phone number, if someone cares to call so you can talk me through this
(these?) problems.
Also, could you possibly send your thoughts directly to my
