Why is Word responding so slowly when I type?

When I type or try to do anything in Word it takes about 15 seconds for a
response. I cannot reinstall Office 97 because the M drive does not respond
either.

Sounds like you have a network? Contact the people runnnig the network
and providing support. Also check that your ant-virus software is not
interferring.
