why isnt Word opening anymore? im getting error message 1601.

Why isnt Word opening anymore? im getting error message 1601. im also getting
a message that "ms office word is not installed for the current user. please
run setup to install the application". word is installed on my two year old
laptop and i have used it many times. why the problem now??? What do I do????
