More than likely your documents contain something that Word perceives to be
a non-Word document and it's attempting to convert it. What that "something"
might be, who knows. I could be from copy/pasted content from a web site or
embedded RTF data. On the recipient's end, they need to do one of two
things: 1) Save the document and open it in Word using the Open dialog box,
2) Change their Word Options and select "Confirm Conversions on Open" so
they can select the correct converter (Word) to open the document. Of course
the former method is the easist to convey but I'm sure that's not going to
be an easy task. :-(
