Kathleen, thanks for the tip. I was running Google Desktop, and uninstalled
it. While that didn’t help, I started poking around within Outlook and found
that the Scansoft software (OmniPage Pro 14) had installed a “PDF Converter
2.0 Outlook Addin†COM Add-In within Outlook.
(Sorry, small bmp image wouldn't paste here". If you want a copy, e-mail
me at (e-mail address removed))
After I “removed†the Add-In, Outlook worked fine. Rebooting however,
brought the Add-In back and caused the same problem. I found the Add-in
“outlookaddin.dll†under “C:\Program Files\Scansoft\PDFConverter 2.0
Professional\PDFConvâ€, and changed the dll file extension to outlookaddin.lll
to disable it. Everything seems to work fine now since Outlook can’t find
the dll file to load into Outlook. I’ve used my OmniPage software to scan
documents in pdf files, and there doesn’t seem to be a proble.
While your suggestion didn’t ecactly work, it gave me clues for which to
look. Thanks for everything. You’re great!
