why project professor 2003 connecting project server meet error al

I installing sqlserver2000 ,sharepoint portal server 2003 and project
server2003 on the same computer.the pwa worked normally after this but
project professor 2003 always raise system error:0x80004005 while publishing
a project .

So I reinstall on the other computer this problem still exit.

three days later,I reinstall on a virtual machine and It work sucessfully
in the end.

So I decide to reinstall on another computer ,but Project professor still
meet the error :0x80004005.
athough I know how to rosolve 0x80004005 error but I didn't know why I can
install sucessfully sometimes?
Who can help me what's wrong with my opration?

Thanks for your response.I know how to solve this problem.but I didn't know
why I can install correctly sometimes?Is thant any error in my installing?

Try these things:

1) That your installations are from the same source
2) You are using same installation options (for OS, SQL, Project & WSS)
3) Your sequence of installation is same including service packs for these
products

I think variation in above factors can cause your installation to act some
what differently than similar installations. It might be due to DLL / System
settings etc mismatch.

Dear NorthSky,
I'm facing the same error, one of my instlallations works fine when it comes
to synchronize the project professional with the server, while the other is
always givinf Project Server Spooler Error (0x80004005) System Error!!, and
in the server's event log I found:
Error Number: 0x80004005
Description: <Description><![CDATA[Assert Detected. The error code was also
included.]]></Description>

Is this what you were facing? how did you solve it? (I installed hotfixes
for both server and professional)
