Why some recipients receive pictures in emails and others don't?

I have Outlook 2003 Microsoft Small Business Edition version. Prior to
November I was using Outlook 2000. Now I have recipients who are getting no
pictures and the red x in the email -- no pictures. I've looked at all the
settings in Outlook and can not figure out why the pictures are not appearing
at the other end. Any suggestions?

How are you inserting the pictures into the messages?

These are messages I receive then forward. One person has aol w/pc; another
is a mac user w/earthlink.

If the problem is only occurring with these two recipients, I'm thinking the
issue is on their end. The pictures are most likely linked from the Internet
and these recipients are not able to access those Internet locations for
whatever reason, so they just get the red X.

The issue didn't start to occur until I went from Outlook 2000 to Outlook
2003. That's why I think there may be a setting problem on my end.

You could always try creating a new mail profile to see if that makes any
