Why the page count in TOC changed when i attached them in a email

I got a problem when I using TOC function in Word. the page count is ok when
I saved in my PC but when I attached in a email, when I reopen it, the page
count changed to the same page no. Is it because of when I open the attached
word file in outlook, it open as a reading pane?

Yes, this problem has been linked to opening in the Reading Pane. You can
disable this through a check box on the General tab of Tools | Options.
